General Thoughts

These seem to be everywhere, which is weird considering I've almost never seen anyone buy any. The macros on the Big100 are terrible - they're usually loaded with sugar and high calorie. Even their protein-plus bars, which are better in terms of macros and sugar, still have a questionably long ingredients list and underwhelming taste. Overall, not a brand I can strongly recommend.

Price

These are typically more expensive than most bars, but also bigger, so it isn't quite a fair comparison IMO. Typically they run at $2-3 per bar. Adjusting for this, I give it a 11/15.

Flavors

Protein Plus Chocolate Chocolate Chunk

  • Fullness Factor: These are very chewy, which might contribute to them being more filling for me. Still, they are low in fiber and don't have the best macros. 10/15.
  • Nutrition: This exactly passes the test at 31P/310Cals. It is a bit high in saturated fat (8g), low in fiber and sugar (2 and 1g respectively), and ridiculously high in sugar alcohols (17g). The protein blend is high quality, though the ingredients list is long and has tons of stuff I don't recognize (or want to). Definitely not a clean bar, but solid overall. 25/35.
  • Taste: As previously mentioned, these were very chewy and sticky for me. It is a very rich chocolate, and though tolerable, it definitely isn't my favorite bar. 28/35.
  • Overall: 74
