General Thoughts

These taste like real f*cking ice cream. It's incredible. They use this novel technology called EPG, which is basically like an indigestible fat, and they've got the texture perfect. It's always scoopable straight away. They tend to use good sweetners, though some use some maltitol. These tend to be very keto friendly, if you're into that. The mix-ins were great. These tend to run slightly cheaper than Halo Top, but not much. Often there are bundles.

Price

The price tends to be ~$5/pint, but I see bundles all the time (like 2 for $8). 11/15.

Fullness Factor

These are pretty average, boasting low sugar and high fiber. I honestly can't say I find them a ton more filling than Halo Top. 12/15.

Flavors

Peanut Butter Cup

  • Nutrition: This is their highest calorie one, with only 15g protein per pint and 390 cals. It has a ton of sugar alcohols (23g) and a ton of fiber (23g). Unfortunately, it runs at 17g saturated fat, which is a lot! 24/35.
  • Taste: Divine. Unlike Halo Top, they nailed this flavor. The mix-ins are generous and delicious. It's no wonder it's higher calorie. 34/35.
  • Overall: 81
Peanut Butter Swirl

  • Nutrition: Much lower calorie (290 cals), with less saturated fat (but still a lot: 18g) and a lot less protein (9g). Also dairy-free if you're into that. 25/35.
  • Taste: Again, divine. There are generous amounts of swirls, and they're delicious. 32/35.
  • Overall: 81

Triple Chocolate

  • Nutrition: Low calorie (320 cals), more reasonable saturated fat (13g), but low protein (13g). 25/35.
  • Taste: I don't really taste the brownie, which is what I thought this would be, but it does taste like chocolate with chocolate chunks mixed in. Still, can't complain - I looooove chocolate. 28/35.
  • Overall: 77

Strawberry

  • Nutrition: Really low calorie (270) and lower saturated fat (11g). Only big complaint is protein (9g). 27/35.
  • Taste: Could easily be mistaken for generic strawberry ice cream, which is a great compliment to a diet ice cream. 28/35.
  • Overall: 78

Mint Chocolate

  • Nutrition: Again, crazy low calorie (270), with similar saturated fat (13g) and protein (10g). 26/35.
  • Taste: Very minty. I honestly prefer Halo Top's take, but Nick's is miles ahead on texture. 29/35.
  • Overall: 78

Coffee Chocolate Chip

  • Nutrition: Identical to mint chip (280 cals, 13 saturated fat, 10g protein) but with 10 more calories and slightly more net carbs. 26/35.
  • Taste: This is exactly what I was hoping Halo Top's Chocolate Mocha Chip would be. The perfect coffee-flavored ice cream. 32/35.
  • Overall: 82

Coffee Caramel

  • Nutrition: You can't complain about 240cals for a whole-ass pint of ice cream. Yes, it's low protein (12g), but it's even low saturated fat (4g). 28/35.
  • Taste: A lot more caramel than coffee. Not bad, but wouldn't pick it up again. 26/35.
  • Overall: 78

Salted Caramel

  • Nutrition: Very low calorie (260), lower on saturated fat (10g), and low protein (9g). 26/35.
  • Taste: This is perfect for a salted caramel, I'm just not a salted caramel guy. No complaints though. 27/35.
  • Overall: 76

Cherry Chocolate

  • Nutrition: Same schtick. 290Cals, 12g saturated fat, 11g protein. 25/35.
  • Taste: Exactly like Cherry-Garcia. Not a flavor you can have every day, but when it hits, it hits. 31/35.
  • Overall: 79

Birthday Cake

  • Nutrition: 260 cals, 12g saturated fat, 9g protein. 26/35.
  • Taste: Nothing exceptional, but I can't emphasize enough how I could mistaken this for non-diet birthday cake. 30/35.
  • Overall: 79

Vanilla Bean

  • Nutrition: We are now getting into ridiculously low calorie territory (250), with 10g of protein and 11g saturated fat. 27/35.
  • Taste: A pleasant, but somewhat generic vanilla. Exactly as advertised. 28/35.
  • Overall: 78

Chocolate

  • Nutrition: 260Cals, 12g protein, 12g saturated fat. 27/35.
  • Taste: I will say I prefer the flavor of Halo Top's chocolate, but this is still excellent, and again exactly as advertised. 29/35.
  • Overall: 79

Peanut Caramel

  • Nutrition: Despite the calories on their website, this is 360 cals (at least, the one I found was). Higher in protein (17g), and moderate with saturated fat (13g). 24/35.
  • Taste: Delicious, but not crunchy as advertised. I prefer their other peanut butter flavors, but in general they have an incredible take on peanut butter flavors and it definitely works here. 32/35.
  • Overall: 79

Swedish Munchies

  • Nutrition: Higher in calories for Nick's (320), but still outrageously low compared to the competition. Impressive 15g of protein and not-so-impressive 13g saturated fat. 26/35.
  • Taste: I was hoping for more marshmallow's, honestly, but it was still delicious. The mix-ins were generous, they just weren't as good as most of Nick's mix-ins. 29/35.
  • Overall: 79

Rocky Road

  • Nutrition: Higher in calories (370), with an unimpressive 14g protein and 13g saturated fat. 24/35.
  • Taste: This is exactly what I was hoping for in Swedish munchies. Perfect mix-ins, which are very generous by the way. The only comment I have is their take on Rocky Road has more almond than I'm used too, but maybe I'm used to fake/artificial stuff. 32/35.
  • Overall: 80

Swedish Apple Pie

  • Nutrition: Very low calorie, moderate protein (12g), high saturated fat (15g). 25/35.
  • Taste: Very sweet and exactly as advertised, though honestly I was expecting a bit more cinnamon. They did the flavor perfectly, it's just not a flavor I vibe a ton with. 27/35.
  • Overall: 76
