General Thoughts

These are called the tastiest protein bars on the market for a reason. Every bar I've tried has honestly been a banger in terms of flavor. These used to only be available at Trader Joes, but have recently been popping up in much more stores. Their sweetner of choice is usually Maltitol, which sucks because it has a similar glycemic impact to sugar. Overall they're a pretty solid choice - I just wish they were slightly bigger and cheaper.

Price

These generally range from $2-3.5/bar at Trader Joes (though I'm seeing them more and more often now). 10/15.

Fullness Factor

These are slightly smaller than average for their calories (55g) and moderate-to-low in fiber. 10/15.

Nutrition

The regular bars have fairly standardized nutrition, with 20P/200 Cals, high quality protein, low fiber, moderate sugar alcohols. 28/35.

Flavors

Cookies and Cream

  • Taste: Though it definitely doesn't taste like an Oreo, it's still really really good. There's a reason everyone raves about these, and it lives up to expectations. 32/35.

Chocolate Dough

  • Taste: This tasted like a generic candy bar. As a chocolate guy, I was super excited for this (especially compared to the other non-chocolate flavors), but honestly it disappointed me. 29/35.
  • Overall: 77/10.

Choco Hazelnut

  • Nutrition: This notably has 10 more calories than your average barebell (20P/210Cals). 27/10.
  • Taste: Holy shit, exactly like nutella. Extra good if just slightly microwaved (5-10 secs). 32/10
  • Overall: 79

White Chocolate Almond

  • Taste: This was lovely. That's an understatement. The white chocolate was perfect, and you could actually taste real almonds. Only complaint is it was slightly artificial - almost too sweet for a candy-bar. 30/10.
  • Overall: 78/10

Creamy Crisp

  • Taste: Probably my favorite flavor. I have nothing to say other than it's better than most candy bars. The taste is honestly hard to describe, but think Snickers except better. 33/10
  • Overall: 81/10

Soft Minty Chocolate

  • Nutrition: At 16P/200Cals, this is definitely more of a candy-bar-replacement than a protein bar. 23/35.
  • Taste: This is the best mint-flavored thing I've had in a while. It gets extra soft if slightly microwaved. I loved it, but I'm not a big mint fan. Still, undeniably tasty. 30/35.
  • Overall: 73

Soft Banana Caramel

  • Nutrition: Slightly better, at 16P/190 Cals. 26/35.
  • Taste: This is spot on. Think generic banana flavored dessert. It's not something I would have every day, but it's a treat. (I don't know who the banana-chocolate appeal is for - I'm definitely not a banana split guy, but if you are, this is for you!) 30/35.
  • Overall: 76

Soft Caramel Choco

  • Nutrition: Same as Soft Banana Caramel. 26/35.
  • Taste: Holy shit. literally a snickers. Absolute game-changer. 33/35.
  • Overall: 79
